Due to the fact that new characters sometimes have difficulty getting involved in RP, we have added a feature to this MUX that we hope will encourage people to involve new characters in RP.
You can tell which characters are new by their IC/OOC status when you bring up a '+who'. If their status is listed as 'NEW' then they are a new character. You may also list all online new status characters by typing '+new'.
There are three main effects that these characters have:
1) Experience gained from activity is doubled when you are RPing in a location that contains a new character.
2) Votes from a new character are worth triple the XP of a vote from an established character.
3) New characters have the option of giving out perk votes to people who go out of their way to involve them in RP. (see Perks)
New characters retain their new status for two weeks of online time before turning into an established character. If you wish to see how much time you have left in your 'new' status, type '+new/me'. If you wish to forfeit your time as a new character, and immediately become an established character, type '+new/renounce'.
