The strange zone of no powers in New Haven has brought with it many of the changing breeds, as well as other supernaturals seeking to learn its secrets, and that makes it a pretty dangerous place for the persecuted Ratkin. The center of the city, wherein powers are impossible, strips them of the gifts of their spirits that keep them safe, and the many creatures that incur into the sewers threaten their havens and nests. While others might risk all to learn the secrets of this place, the Ratkin are much more concerned with survival, and New Haven is a prison where their enemies might someday surround and slaughter them.
Still, there are a bold few who come to eke out their own territory in this dangerous place. Some come to find secrets, some come to find mates, and some come to protect their brethren. After all, somebody's got to do it.
