Human Theme

Life in New Haven is difficult for those that can be called 'merely human'. With the dismal, everpresent fog and the stench of the meat packing plants, the city has an oppressive atmosphere that oppresses the spirit. The main form of plant life is the mold that grows in damp crevices between stones; all other plant life is sickly and stunted, strangled by the weak sun.

Crime rates, including the violent crime and murder rates, are high. In many parts of town, it's unsafe to walk the streets alone at night. In these dark places, even the predator must fear becoming the prey.

Even with all this, people still come to New Haven. There's something about the city that makes people feel like they are safer here. They don't realize that it's due to the No Power Zone hampering the influence of the supernatural on their lives. To those unaware of the secret worlds around them, it's simply something that keeps them here, even with all the hate, pain, and evil that incurs into their everyday lives.
