Camarilla Theme

Within two years of the curse being laid upon New Haven, Clan Tremere began to flock here, drawn like moths to a flame. They wished to study it, learn exactly how it was done and perhaps even learn to do it themselves. They established a Chantry and claimed the city for their Clan.

As the city grew in size and population, it was inevitable that Kindred of other clans would come. Though some came unknowing of the no power zone, others came because of it. The Tremere, well entrenched by this time, informed the newcomers that they would respect the rule of Clan Tremere and the Prince. Clan Tremere has retained its hold on the city since those first days after the curse, right up to the present.

The city is still growing, the Regent/Prince holds power, and there are rumors of a Sabbat presence on the opposite side of the null zone. The area of powerlessness acts as a sort of de-militarized zone; neither side dares to cross it, lest they are caught before they leave, without their powers to defend themselves.

In the null zone, Kindred of all generations stand on equal footing. Beware the Elder who wanders in and is set upon by a Neonate looking to settle a score. But at the same time, it draws more than the Tremere. Those Kindred that seek Golconda, or just a few moment's peace from the beast that haunts their every moment of unlife risk all to walk within it.

Politics in New Haven are harsh and deadly. Elders have been unseated in the course of a single night, and Neonates make their names within the halls of Elysium. The Tremere rule the city with an iron hand, and disobedience to their will, even slight breeches of the Masquerade, can be punished with Final Death. But the Camarilla in New Haven is strong and safely ensconced in the city, and that is thanks to the efforts of Clan Tremere.

The no power zone is not patrolled by the Sheriff or Scourge, and is a haven for those who wish to remain on the fringes of the Camarilla or keep out of the power games played by the sect. Members of the Camarilla are warned that the null zone is dangerous, and if they venture there or beyond into Sabbat territory, they are on their own. More than one Neonate has met his or her end at the hands of the powers that rule that area, or has ventured into Sabbat territory and never returned.

Relations with the local lupines are at a bare minimum; the changing breeds haven't made a habit of bothering the Camarilla, and the Camarilla would like to keep it that way. The standing order is to leave them alone and allow them to go about their business, and it is strictly enforced. Those who ignore it risk Final Death.

What brings you here? A desire to regain your lost humanity? Curiosity about the no power zone? Or maybe it just sounds like a fun place to hang your hat for a while. Whatever your reasons, remember this is a dangerous city for the unwary and unprepared.
