From time to time, situations come up that provokes a Vampire's Beast. In such cases, the character's Self-Control is rolled against the following difficulties (or at a difficulty that the Storyteller deems appropriate). The character must obtain five successes to completely overcome the Beast's desires of violence, but even one success halts the desire for a turn. Each success provides that many turns of control, at which time another roll can be made. Once five successes are obtained, the desire has passed. But, failing means the character goes into frenzy, botching means the character remains in frenzy until the Storyteller deems otherwise, and in some cases, might gain a derangement related to the frenzy.
