While in the real world, large scale disasters can maim and kill thousands of people and damage buildings in moments, on Tempest, we have the luxury of not being in the real world and thus can take some preliminary precautions when dealing with destruction on such a massive magnitude.
To make this brief, under no circumstances will any PC be allowed to create a situation of mass destruction in a populated area with the intent of killing multiple PCs. The amount of work and dedication that goes into building a character, then playing the character out, precludes our being able to simply allow anyone to randomly kill half the MUX in a single blow.
This is not to say that we will not allow explosives, large scale arson, or other situations at all. In fact, these devices can be used for terrorist attacks and will likely be used in Tinyplots from time to time. However, using such a device requires that you conduct everything ICly with Staff supervision, in areas unpopulated ICly by PCs of the MUX, and that you notify your sphere wizard of your intentions with the device at least twenty-four (24) hours BEFORE roleplaying out any consequences. While, normally, Staff will allow these types of scenes to unfold, we do reserve the right to limit the destruction and mayhem that they may cause to avoid large scale disruption of the game of an OOC manner.
If the above conditions are met, we invite plot ideas involving these types of scenarios, that will promote roleplay and the general excitement f the MUX. We simply object to killing many PCs out of hand, or destroying linked buildings for little to no reason, and we are sure that you understand and respect our reasons for such a decision.
Be aware however, these types of activities are a dangerous and extremely expensive undertaking. It will involve RPing out several scenes, a great deal of resources, and perhaps a set of rolls. Just be aware that this is a World of Darkness and sometimes things can... "Blow up in your face."
